Psalm 139
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!...

16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
As we ponder our current situation, it is easy to succumb to anxiety. I know I have. I fluctuate from oh, what’s the big deal to wondering if I have enough food in the house or worse. I also spend time thinking and praying for the most vulnerable in our church family.
I think of some of our older members and realize that they’ve seen lots of difficult times. And yet, they have overcome. We will too.
One of the words we keep hearing on the news is the word, UNPRECEDENTED. I’ve thought about counting how many times in an hour I hear that word. It seems to be the word for this time.
However, as I read through this Psalm, another familiar Psalm, I realize that none of this takes God by surprise. He knew what would happen. He knows the outcome. He has seen every struggle and difficulty we have been through and all we will go through during this difficult time.
That makes me feel better. God knows and we can trust that He will see us through.
Please check on each other and pray for each other.
